John Holland Fount-Filler #4 with Hatchet Lever

EuGene Smith of Clinton brought this wonderful John Holland Fount-Filler #4 to our August meeting. In the above video, EuGene demonstrates the "hatchet filler" mechanism, something many of us had not seen before. This pen dates to the 1915-1920 period. When tucked away, the mechanism is almost completely hidden, but as you can imagine, this resulted in less ink capacity. Beautiful pen, thank you EuGene!
